About Ace

Meet Ace, a stunning two-year old, 60 lb. mixed breed dog. We think there may be some Pit, Basenji, Belgian Malinois, or Shepherd in there. While his breed is uncertain, one thing we do know is that this boy is as handsome as can be! He was found wandering the streets in Danbury this past May and was never claimed so we are unsure if he got lost or was dumped. He has been staying with his finder but the family is unable to keep him and give Ace want he needs so he's in search of a new home! With big ears, a soft coat, and striking amber eyes, this pup is guaranteed to capture your heart! He certainly lives up to his breed type because Ace is a very active dog that loves to run and play for hours on end. He will need an adopter willing to provide him with plenty of exercise, enrichment, attention, and mental stimulation. He loves being with his people and is super sweet and affectionate. He will happily accept all the pets and cuddles you have to offer. When there's something that he wants, he'll tell you by 'talking' to you so if you're looking for some good conversation, Ace is here for you! Being that he doesn't have much experience living in a home, he is still learning 'to dog' and will need some training for basic manners. Ace is doing well on housetraining and leash walking, although he is strong. His ideal home would be one with a fenced yard and with teens and up - he'd love to have someone to run with to get out all his energy. Ace frequents the dog park often and would be best suited for dogs that are on the calmer side. We do not recommend a home with cats or young children due to his size and exuberance.
