Red is a beautiful 6 year old pure bred July American Foxhound. We rescued him 5 months ago from life in a small cage, only brought out to hunt and breed. He had rear leg issues from living in the cage but they are now completely resolved. He has been neutered, microchipped, and had a broken tooth removed. He is completely housebroken and can be left uncaged when you leave without destroying anything. He lives with adult men and women, a baby, two other male dogs and a female dog, I am heartbroken to have to rehome him but for some reason he has started being aggressive with one of the other male dogs who is a weaker and nervous type dog. He's fine with the other two dogs but will attack the one and draw blood. I've tried everything I know to do to work on this issue but it's not getting better. Red loves to roam and his hunting instinct is still strong. I want to find him a farm where he can roam and be free to live the life of a hound but still come inside at night to be cuddled and spoiled like he deserves. He has grown quite fond of soft couches, good boy treats and taking up 75% of the bed at night. He is sweet, gentle and very well behaved in public. He rides well in the car and shows no aggression to strangers or other animals. Potential adopters will be screened in order to find Red the forever home of his dreams.
