About Grizzly

Adoption Fee: $50
Akita
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

Grizzly is a 10 year old male akita who suddenly and unexpectedly lost the only owner he has ever known when his owner passed away at the end of 2020. Grizzly did not adjust well to his initial stressful temporary boarding conditions, and subsequently now has a bite on record. Since relocation, Grizzly has shown no aggressive behaviors. Grizzly has completed months of training in order to assess behavior and establish basic obedience skills to help him find a new home. The trainer states Grizzly is ready to be placed into a new home, and we are currently searching for the right fit. Grizzly can be just like his name sounds, he can be a big goofy teddy bear, or he can be just a bear! He is a typical male Akita and needs someone who is familiar with the breed and can provide the structure and boundaries that Grizzly needs. Grizzly can be slow to trust, and is often most comfortable with males. Grizzly spent most of his life indoors with a single male adult and went on lots of long distance road trips. Grizzly LOVES food, any food! He also goes nuts over squeaky toys and enjoys tennis balls. He'll play fetch a little but has more fun exploring his surroundings. He loves attention and enjoys being around his person. Car rides are his favorite thing!
