About Mistoffelees

Adoption Fee: $25
American Shorthair / Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

This is Mistoffelees. He is a 2yr old neutered male and will be 3 on March 20th. He weighs roughly 15-17lbs. He is a good boy and we love him very much! He is a excessive groomer but since starting in Spring of 2021 that has been getting worse and worse. We have 6 cats (including him and 1 being his brother) and 2 small dogs. He is not coping well with the high stress of all the animals and is expressing it through over grooming himself to the point of harm. In Spring of 2021 is when a pregnant stray was brought in and we kept 3 of her kittens. He is missing a lot fur because of the over grooming and currently has very torn up skin in various areas on him. He has to be in a soft cone constantly to try and help. He will absolutely go insane grooming once it comes off. We try to give him breaks but it never ends well. He can not handle the stress from all of the pets we have. The only one he seems to like is our senior papillon. Our papillon has loved him and his brother since they were kittens. They were his babies and he still gives Mistoffelees baths. I think Mistoffelees may be ok with a small low key dog but I can't be for sure. I don't know how he would do with just 1 cat or just 1 small dog but I know he gets stressed with to many. He would do better in a home that is laid back and no small kids. He does not like being picked up and held. He has never been super affectionate but does have his moments of wanting attention. In the right house he could really come out of his shell. We don't want to keep him in a cone forever and we don't want him to be so stressed and we don'thave the finances to constantly keep taking him to the vets. We love him so so much!! We just feel he would benefit more in a new home with a lot less pets and less stress. He can not handle a shelter or rescue. He needs to be in a individual home. If you think you would love to adopt him please reach out to me.
