About Fenrir (Fen)

Adoption Fee: $300
Siberian Husky
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

This is Fenrir (Fen), a beautiful young black and white husky with unusual markings. I found Fen as a stray and took him to the Riverside Animal Shelter to help his owners find him. After four weeks, he remained unclaimed and was at risk of euthanasia since he had symptoms of kennel cough. I rescued him from that situation and am now seeking to place him with a good home. Fen is about 13 months old weighing about 50 pounds and is 20 inches tall at the shoulder. He's a very good-natured dog and extremely social with all people and dogs he meets. He absolutely loves going to the dog park and running for hours with the other dogs. He seems to know just how to adjust himself to their speed and strength and is good at avoiding aggressive behavior. Fen is highly intelligent and learns fast. He solved the new food puzzle I gave him in about a minute! He had no training and was pretty unruly when he came to me a month ago but has since become completely house trained, has learned sit, and walks well on a leash. He does pretty well in the car and is getting better. He is much more at ease in the house and has learned not to bolt out the door when it's opened. Fen has a moderate energy level (for a husky) and needs a good long walk or run every day. He loves his toys, especially his Wubba Kong octopus, and will often play fetch. He needs engaged activity during the day but becomes calm and settled at sunset and stays that way until morning. An active doggie companion would be ideal for him and would keep him from trying to wrestle and play with you. He sleeps peacefully in his crate at night but doesn't like being in it during the day. He'll need more work on that. Fen needs someone who is familiar and experienced with Siberian huskies, has a large secure yard, and ideally, other active dogs. He does not seem to care much for cats, and since he is still a rambunctious pup, he is probably not suitable for a home with young children. He has had all of his vaccines, is microchipped, and will be neutered on Jan 18th . After that, he will be ready to start his adventurous new life in his forever home.
