About Otto

This handsome gentleman is Otto, a nine month old kitty man who appears to be a Maine Coon/Domestic Mix. Born in April of 2022, Otto lived in a home with his mother and her most recent litter of three kittens and two other adult cats. Sadly in early December of 2022, Otto's human mom had her power and water turned off and was evicted from her home. After seeing her post pleading for placement for her kitties, I agree to take Otto in to my rescue fold. During his first two weeks with my kitty and dog crew, Otto lived behind my bathroom toilet. He would come out to eat and to snuggle in his cat cave. Just before Christmas, Otto became more adventurous and would motor out of my bathroom and into the two bedrooms on either side thereof. By New Year's Eve Otto was venturing farther, into the dining room and living room and interacting with the other kitties. He is now a whole houser, and as seen in his biography photo a sofa lounger. Otto seems particularly smitten, almost mesmerized with ACC basketball games. He does enjoy Hallmark movies, but truly seems to prefer the movement of the basketball and the players. He has become an underfoot kitty, often walking right beside me or pirouetting around my feet/ankles, especially at feeding time. Any adopter must be prepared for him to gently placed his front paws on your lower leg at he stands on his back legs and reaches up to you to get attention while chattering at you. This is a favorite activity when one is brushing one's teeth or washing one's face. Otto will snuggle beside you when you watch tv and go belly up and allow you to tickle his tummy. He will give you love nips when you do so, so one must be prepared for the same. While he is now a gregarious gent, I am of the opinion that his initial shyness will resurface once he is adopted, but that he will transition nicely as he has with me. So an adopter needs to be prepared to win him over with patience and understanding and more importantly food. Otto is a huge fan of the meat varieties of Purely Fancy Feast. Otto has been neutered, rabies and distemper vaccinated, combo tested negative for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus, microchipped, flea treated and dewormed.
