About Timber

Adoption Fee: $300
Doberman Pinscher / German Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Timber, Timber was unfortunately determined to be abandoned on highway 36 in Oregon in November. My husband and I found him and exhausted all avenues of trying to find his owners including Facebook posts, reports at animal shelters and humane societies but were unsuccessful. He is estimated to be around 11 months. When we first got him we were sure we would find his owners, but alas we did not. He was not chipped or fixed at the time. Since we have had him, we have caught him up on all vaccines, gotten him neutered and microchipped. We have made our best attempt to adopt him into our family of two other dogs but we must do what is best for him. In our home we already have 2 large adult dogs; one male and one female. And having a third dog is just too much for our home. Timber is a very sweet, smart and happy puppy. He weighs 68 pounds and would thrive in a home with other dogs or being the center of attention. He thrives to please his owners and loves to play and loves to snuggle. He is very loyal and protective. When he meets new people he has some insecurity but after a few minutes he relaxes and just wants to play and get pets. He is potty trained, kennel trained, and has learned a lot of basic commands. He loves to play with toys and loves to snuggle in between play time. We are moving to a smaller 1000sq ft home this year and it is going to be a challenge with 2 dogs let alone 3. We have covered the needs as it was our best interest to try to keep him but we cannot. Timber is very curious around our adopted indoor/outdoor cat. She came with the property and is very fearful of all dogs. He has never tried to nip or bite or anything like that he just wants to sniff to check her out and she is not having any of it. So I would say good but overall the is such a puppy in that he struggles with other animals setting boundaries. I think if a kitty has no problem letting him know to back off then I really think he would do really good. We have a puppy plan with Eastgate vet in Corvallis and are hoping someone would be willing to take over the plan. We are hoping to find a new home for him and continue the plan which covers nurse visits, vaccines and nail trimmings. The puppy plan is $100 per month through Eastgate vet on Peoria road. If someone adopts him out of the area and does not want to continue the plan we are asking to split the difference of what we owe which would be $300 each. We also have a very large crate to fit him and we would include that as well as his raised food bowl and his bed too.
