***Foster Needed Very Soon!*** This pretty girl was in boarding at a vet's office in rural Kentucky for 6 months. Her former own who kept her outside, didn't want her anymore and a kindly advocate intervened for her. It was found she had heartworm. The advocate worked with the vet- to keep her there and they started treatement for heartworm. She struggled with the second injection with too much fluid build up, so they stopped the treatments. She is now here in MN and she needs a foster home. We are looking who could bring her to a vet in Edina Mn a few times potentially. We want to have her evaluated (second opinion), to see if they think she should, or could undergo heartworm treatment to free her of heartworm. She also is not spayed yet, due to having heartworm. Many vets do not advise putting a dog under anesthesia until they are cleared of heartworm, so it's kind of a catch 22 for her. We want to pursue all options to see how we can resolve these dilemmas for her. If you live in the metro area (or even if you liver farther out, but don't mind going to the vet in Edina a few times over the course of a couple of months), please consider Piper. She is not good with cats and maybe a little dog selective due to her still being intact, but we have ways of testing her and/or introducing her to make sure it's a good fit.
