About Smitty

During our stormy weather in Sacramento, CA Dec. 2022, A beautiful black/white domestic long hair cat began sitting on my fence day/night rain or sunshine. I felt sorry for it because I knew it was hungry. So I began feeding it on my fence, then it started licking my fingers and rubbing against my arms and rolling on the fence. It is under two years old, very lovable to me and loves being brushed. The cat follows me around like a dog and drops and rolls over affectionally at my feet. It is not feral, it had been someones pet at one time. There are several rental homes behind me and folks move out and toss their pets. Over the years many have come and gone. I have a cat that was a stray and had to have all her teeth removed due to bad teeth. After investing $$$ in her, she is my first priority. This Black and white cat chases her and they fought once. Possibly because he wanted to mate and she rejected him. I could not keep Him. On January 12, 2023 He was taken Placer County animal services in Auburn CA. They named him Smitty and just put him up for adoption. He is a neutered male, they have given him all the necessary shots. They think he is about two years, I'd say younger than that. His markings are quite nice and he does have some manners. It is storming here so I put Smitty in my spare bathroom during the storm, not a peep out of him during the night. He loves being outside, so once he knows where he lives, if safe, he would love being outside during the day. I have never had a cat so affectionate. If someone needs to be loved this cat will do that. I have no idea who owned this cat, if there were children, or other animals in the home. I would say if there is a small pet like a rat, rabbit that could become prey, then this is not the pet for you because it had to become a hunter to survive.
