It's All About Emma! 2 year old Emma came in as a stray to the shelter. She quickly became a volunteer and staff favorite because of her easy going, calm personality, a dog who always had a smile on her face no matter what. Then the best thing happened-Emma was chosen to participate in a prisoner training program! Only the most special dogs are chosen to share their lives for 6 weeks with maximum security prisoners who have the responsibility, in collaboration with a trainer, to train and socialize the dogs. This is a life changing program for both the prisoner and the dog. So what else about Emma? * She is a confident-with-her-body 105-lb mix of Alaskan Malamute and Anatolian Shepherd * Emma likes a clean house and wouldn't dare potty inside, loves her girl cave aka crate to relax and sleep and loves car rides, bopping her head to rock n' roll music * She has just the right amount of energy, and loves to walk and hike. She listens to her walker and minds when given commands * Her world is complete when she has people adoring her and is friendly with the dogs in her play group, and her preference is to get 100% of her humans attention at home. Not tested with cats so a hard no, and best with teenagers not small children Emma would love to have her own full-time family. Want to meet her, hug her, get kisses?
