About Petey

Petey was left tied to a pole. We saw his people pull up in their car, tie him up, and then drive away. He was tied so loosely that he could have easily escaped onto the busy road, but thankfully we were able to get out to him fast enough to prevent that from happening. Petey, was pulling on his leash trying in the direction his people drove off in. Even though they left him, he still wanted them. He is a very sweet boy and did not deserve to hurt like this. Petey is such a sweet dog, but he is so scared right now to be here. He's so far just been wanting cuddles and his tummy rubbed. We would hope to find Petey a family who can make him feel loved, safe, and wanted always. This large lovebug is about 65lbs at about 2 years of age. He appears to do well with other dogs, ideally closer to his size. Petey might be considered in a home with children who are experienced with large dogs and kind to animals.
