About Brenae FKA Turnip

LOCATION: Arlington, Texas DOB: 06/13/2022 Breaking news!!! I am ready to be adopted!! My name is Brenae and I am going to win you over with my adorable personality and super fun energy. My foster mom calls me 'a hoot'. I think that's a funny word and I like the way it sounds. When I'm being really good she calls me 'Naenay' or 'Nae'. I love that she loves me. Let's backtrack just a bit though. For a while, I was a guest at this place called 'The Pound.' When they told me someone was coming to get me out of 'The Pound' I was soooo excited!!. I felt like nobody wanted me because I walked a little funny. I have a back leg that looks a little different than other dogs. But that doesn't slow me down. I can run, jump and get into anything. I can be so fast! I have a furry foster sister and I taught her to use the doggie door cuz she didn't like going outside by herself. I also showed my foster sister how to carry things, like throw rugs, through the doggie door. Mom says, 'no ma'am, throw rugs are supposed to stay inside.' I love to play with my doggie friends all day, even the senior ones! And I used to have a little trouble knowing where to go potty. Foster Mom would tell me 'no ma'am' and take me outside. She would take me outside a lot until I went to the bathroom and then I learned that potty was for outside. Sometimes I like to make my own toys or I get into something I'm not supposed to and my mom tells, again, 'no ma'am, Brenae'. Boy do I take off running. Mom will come and get me and show me the 'no ma'am' item and then replace it with a toy. I am a really strong chewer so I need really strong toys that can keep up with me! That's when Foster Mom calls me 'a stinker'. I really like meeting new people. In the house, I like them better when they are all sitting. I will usually bark at them until I know they can be trusted but I have never been aggressive towards anyone. I haven't really been around small people so I don't know what I would do with them. It's probably best for me to be around kids over 5 years old. My foster home has a cat and although I like to chase it now and again, we live together without any issues. And leash training is a work in progress. I get distracted easily. Mom says I could use some work on following directions. I do love treats! I do this little happy dance when I see my mom go to the treat jar. I hope my new house has a treat jar too. That would be so cool! I also hope they have a nice soft bed for me to lay on because I might play hard, but I sleep really hard too. And yes, I snore. I really think I'd be a great dog for an active family that likes to have a lot of fun.
