About Shrek

Shrek would LOVE to have a FOSTER or ADOPTER�'�|..Come meet Shrek he is a very sweet boy!! Don't pass him up!! (Located in Phoenix, AZ) Shrek would love to start the New Year off right by finding his fur-ever family, he is around 7 years old, don't let that fool you, he has the energy of a 2-year-old, shrek is a lab/hound mix. I recently took him out on a day foster trip, he needed to have a break from boarding life, he has been waiting for months for his new family to come meet him. Shrek loves to play with his ball, he would play with his big red ball for hours if you let him. Shrek and I joined another volunteer and fur dog Sol on our day trip. He seemed to enjoy the car ride once he settled down from being so excited to go for a ride, he allowed me to strap him in with a doggie seat belt to his harness, otherwise he would probably like to be your co-pilot in the front seat. He sat nicely and looked out the window. Our first stop was a long walk/hike, Shrek walked amazing on leash with only some pulling to go and sniff a bush, we saw ducks, birds, and he was not interested. Shrek never reacted to other dogs, joggers, or bike riders while on our hike. He did enjoy walking in the stream of water, he thought he was cool. Shrek is very smart and listens to commands well. He knows sit and always took his food/treats gently. He is such a pleasure to go on a hike/walk with. He would make a great hiking/jogging buddy. After our long hike, I took him for some chicken nuggets and hamburgers which he loved. Shrek is dog friendly, as always, a dog intro is required, unknown about cats. Older kids, he does forget how big he is and may knock over a little one.
