About Tyson

Currently being fostered in Northern Mississippi. Hi! I'm Tyson! I am estimated to be almost 11 years old. My foster mom says I'm a very sweet boy! Tyson is great with cats, other dogs, and children (foster sibling is 21 month old toddler). He is gentle and calm, and he would do great with almost anyone, but especially a slow home with a cozy dog bed to lay on by his people. He really loves a nice roll in the grass on a sunny day. He is house trained and will go to the door when he needs to go out. If you don't see him at the door, he will do his best to get your attention by coming up to you and whining or pawing at you. Due to his age, he does have some difficulty going greater than 6-8 hours without a potty break. He came to his foster home in rough shape, overweight with skin issues, and quite shy. He is growing in a pretty coat and he has lost 20 pounds. He loves going on walks, but we have to keep them short for his heart. He is on a heart med, which is expected to be on for his remaining life, but he takes it well with a small dab of peanut butter. We can tell he is feeling healthier, as he occasionally bounces around when he get excited and 'runs' around the backyard with our other dog sometimes. He loves snacks and is learning to be gentle when taking them from the hand. He unfortunately doesn't have much interest in toys, due to his past home's dog's possessive and aggressive nature with their toys, but we continue to encourage playing. Tyson is up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm/flea/tick preventstives, and neutered.
