About Chester

Black Mouth Cur
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Chester is a great dog, approximately 4 years old. 5 weeks ago, a UPS part-time delivery person drove into our property to deliver a parcel. A family friend who was here staying for a while was in the house however both my wife and I weren't home at the time. The driver knocked on the door and our company tried to open the door and keep the dogs in the house, but they almost knocked him over trying to get out and see who it was, we have 4 dogs all rescues. Chester jumped up barking and nicked the top of the driver's arm. Although UPS told up it was just an accident, and animal control told us the same thing, even when we told them we'll cover whatever they want us to do, we were told no biggie. a couple of weeks later we were hit with a lawsuit, the driver going after our homeowner's policy. Our insurance told us the same thing, 2 days ago we received a letter that our insurance is not going to renew our policy the end of January. After meeting with our insurance, we were told if we get rid of Chester they would renew. I love this guy; we went to central Tx. to get him, he was found living around the river there, skin and bones, and very shy. A vet there checked him out and I brought him home, with the help of our local vet we got him fixed up, and settled in with our other dogs, he's loyal to a fault, never fights with any of the dogs, but if one of the others is getting the attention he wants in also. He sleeps in our bedroom, likes to go with me in the P/U truck, and loves playing chase in the yard, you chase him of course. He's a healthy loving boy, he's great around our neighbors, our children, and our grandchildren. Doesn't chew things, doesn't destroy stuff, never messes in the house, and he's come so far in the last 3 years. It is killing me to do this, and I don't think he'll even understand any of this, heck I don't really understand it. He's really an inside dog, he goes outside to potty play run around, and stuff, but comes in, to nap, be with you, get drinks, and also when he is scared. Loud noises scare him, and he sulks anytime you yell at him. He loves being the good boy and hates being the bad boy. Please keep him in your good thoughts and prayers, he really is a fantastic family member. Thank-you for your time reading this.
