About Duke

Hi, I'm Duke. I'm about 5-8yrs old (we think) and I'm looking for my Furever Match. I don't mind other dogs and could probably live with them without issues but I may be best as an only pet for someone looking for a calm, mature guy like myself. I'm not sure how I got here. One minute I'm with my family that I loved and protected and the next, I'm locked up in a jail cell with hundreds of other dogs who were just as scared and confused and me. I was told they were going to kill me if no one came to save me. As the days turned into nights, I grew more scared and nervous��%BD'��%BD| I didn't want to die. All my life I have always tried to be the best good boy out there. I know sit, shake, lay down, etc. I'm crate/ potty trained and I am very food motivated! I thought I was doing everything I could but I guess it wasn't enough for my family. Thankfully, a kind lady came to save me and she put her arms around me and told me I would never have to worry about coming back there again. I have a small mass that I will have surgically removed and will receive my routine vetting as well but soon, I'll be as good as new! Physically, I will heal.. but my heart will only be whole again when I find a family to love again. After all, that's my life's purpose as man's best friend and I don't deserve to spend the last years of my life alone, wondering why I'm not good enough.
