About LIAM

Liam is a young-ish white Boxer. He came from a small shelter in the Douglas area where the dogs are always at risk due to the small size of the rural shelters. Our vet believes he is about 3 years old. Liam is a very loving boy that bonds to his person very quickly. After just a few weeks in the foster's home, he is already allowed out on the property (fenced 3+ acres) off leash. He smells things, explores things and plays with other dogs when they are out with him. Liam comes back almost immediately when called. When he is done playing and exploring outside he will sit at the door waiting to be let in. Though Liam is white, his hearing and sight are just fine but he was recently diagnosed with Valley Fever so will need to take medication at least for awhile and possibly long term. He knows sit and will sleep all night in his crate without messing in it. Liam is completelyhouse trained and only needs to learn how to show he needs to go out. He has a doggie door at his fosters, so he doesn't need to signal to be let out. Liam loves to ride in the car and will jump in as soon as you open the door. He'll sit nicely and watch the world go by. Liam is ok on a leash and loves going for walks. He needs a little work on the pulling part. Like almost all boxers, Liam has a tendency to jump on you to play but with some consistent training, he'll break that habit too (though may not be the best choice for small children). Liam gets along with almost all other dogs. He has no issues with small dogs or medium sized dogs or very large dogs. He is a little selective when it comes to dog that is close to his size. Careful and slow introductions should minimize any of those behaviors. Overall, Liam is a wonderful dog, active happy and people oriented. He would do well as an only dog also. Liam has not been tested with cats. If you love that goofy Boxer personality, love being active with your best buddy and love giving and receiving tons of affection, Liam may be just the perfect dog for you.
