About Declan

Allow me to introduce you to Declan. Declan is an American lab, full bred with papers. American labs are hunting dogs that are actually more in demand then their counterparts, British labs. American labs have very different characteristics than British labs. They need to LOTS of exercise with tons of opportunities to run and play and SWIM! What a beauty he is when he's diving into the water - like a gazelle. But, Declan can be unpredictable. He is extremely protective of his owner and can be aggressive with smaller dogs and folks/dogs that are passing by your car. He also gets VERY excited when someone is at the front door and appears intimidating (but he really just wants to jump all over the guest!). Sadly, Declan's needs are more than I can offer him. I do hike with him in the mornings on the beach so that he can run and catch his ball (his favorite game & will want to play it all day long) but I do work so cannot exercise him as much as he needs. I also cannot have a pup that is unpredictable as I am afraid to take him many places I go daily, and I am a terrible dog trainer! If you know anybody who lives in a place with lots of land, and is looking for an extraordinarily energetic, affectionate, gorgeous, funny, new pup - who definitely would be the best hunting dog ever - Declan would be the very best choice for you. He is a special pup. Obviously, this is going to break my heart into pieces. But I know I need to do what is right for not only me but for him. Thanks for listening.
