About Zoey

Meet Zoey! Zoey is a 2 year old terrier mix that weighs about 40 lbs. She has a shiny, black, smooth coat, brown brindle legs with white. Zoey had puppies on 10/28. She is the best mama to her puppies and is always gentle with them. Even though they are weaned now she still mothers them. Before she was rescued by HSforBC, she spent her life on a short chain attached to her dog house. Because of her sad past life, she is very grateful for the kindness she's been shown since her rescue. She's a little shy around people when she first meets them but if they offer her a treat, she'll be their friend for life. She doesn't seem to know any commands but she has wonderful manners. She waits for you to go out the door first then follows. She walks well on a leash. She is building up her endurance with her walks. She seems house trained and waits to be taken out to potty. She is crate trained and is comfortable being in her crate for a few hours at a time. Zoey would like to be the only dog, or maybe live with an older, calm dog as she seems very timid around other dogs. Zoey seems to be fine with school age and older if they allow her time to get used to them. Zoey would prefer a quiet rural area like where she can chase squirrels. Zoey's first 2 years likely lacked comfort and companionship so she would love a family that will provide her both for the rest of her life.
