About Snickers

Meet Snickers - Dog & Cat friendly!! Snickers is a lab/pittie mix who found herself time stamped for euthanasia at just 8 mos old (!) in a southern shelter where she was continually overlooked for being black and for having a high energy level. Fortunately, we were able to save this little gem in the nick of time. Now around 10-11 mos old, Snickers is a sweet young girl with plenty of puppy energy who will do best in an active family that has the time and space to keep her exercised and where there is at least one fursibling matches her energy level and can keep up with her exuberant play style. Here is what her foster mom has to say about her: 'Snickers is a smart dog who wants to learn and is food-motivated. She knows how to sit, lay down, come, wait when she's on a leash, and is working on 'off' as she likes to jump with excitement. She walks nicely on a leash, is crate trained, house trained, and will let you know if she needs to go outside. Although she is food motivated, she has not shown any signs of food aggression or guarding whatsoever. She will require a home that can provide plenty of exercise and patience. Snickers is good with other dogs and likes to play rough but is beginning to learn boundaries. She is very curious about the cat and seems to want to play with him. When she has come face-to-face, nose-to-nose with the cat, she has not shown any desire or intent to harm him - she seems to really just want to play. Any children in the home should be older kids because she is still working on being to jumpy/bouncy and we don't want to see any small children knocked over. This friendly little dog has a lot of heart and plenty of love to give! She loves a good belly rub and snuggles from her people.'
