Kodiak is a 3 year old Alaskan Husky. He is gorgeous to look at and has been friendly with all of the people he has met at the shelter. It has been reported by his previous owner that he is high energy and not appropriate for children. Children tend to make him over aroused and he became pushy with them to the degree that it made the children fearful. A home with no children is required for Kodiak. As a husky, Kodiak has a strong prey drive so he will need to be monitored around small animals. Prey drive could also be an issue when he is around children who are high energy with fast movements. Kodiak has many breed driven behaviors and needs physical and mental stimulation to keep his energy at a level which makes him easier to manage. He wants to spend time with his people and may wander or jump a fence if left alone. Kodiak needs consistent and positive training and would love to enjoy the great outdoors with you. My adoption fee is $160, plus $25 for an annual dog license, if you live in Jackson County. For more information or to schedule a time to meet the dog, please call the Jackson County Animal Shelter at 541-774-6654 and press 7 to speak to a staff person.
