About Puck

Hello World! My name is Puckie (or puck) but I respond more to Puckie, mainly because I am a spoiled little brat. Yup, I'm pretty spoiled and I have a lot of energy. So let's get this out of the way, I am looking for MY best friend. Preferably an adult, 6ft tall and good looking. Just kidding, or am I? You need to be up for an adventure with ME, meaning you must be active, like an avid runner or hiker is ideal. I have been LOCKED up in a shelter for 6 MONTHS and I am ready to conquer this world. You with me? In the past, people didn't listen to me, so I kept getting frustrated. When I get frustrated, I go in circles, I become mouthy, like puppy play, but unfortunately I'm an adult and that's not acceptable. So I need someone that can help me get my energy out and continue teaching me manners (whatever that is..). I am now learning to sit politely when asking to go out, and wait for the 'magic' word to release my innermost monster out that door to do zoomies in the backyard. FREEDOM! A fenced yard is a must. I am a flight risk, catch me if you can. Oh, squirrel.. I have also learned to look you in the eyes and ask permission for food and treats. I will also dramatically sit at your feet for some belly rubs and ear rubs. I am very nervous at first, but once I settle and understand you are actually willing to listen to me, or realize you want to play a game with me, then I will listen to you and learn anything you want me to. It's going to be a bit of a rough start, that's why you need to be up for this adventure! Once we get through the first few weeks, THE WORLD will be ours my friend. I tolerate being alone, but I might throw a tantrum in the beginning because I don't know why anyone would leave me. I'll settle in a few minutes, but I'll be upset, I won't eat without you being there. Once I know you are around, and we have spent time outside exercising, then I'll just hang out. I have been around dogs, but not lived with them. If you haven't noticed, the world revolves around me, so I'm not sure I'm willing to let others in. Yet, we can go for walks or to parks, but don't you tell me you want me to live with one. Am i not enough for you?? If you do.. well you better be ready to teach me how to be a dog again. I am not sure I'm ready for that yet. Maybe if I make a doggie friend in the future, s/he can teach me some of those social skills. No kids, the little ones, I am a total goof ball who will throw themselves at you and kiss your face till you drown. I could push them the wrong way, mouth at them the wrong way and hurt them, then I'll end up in the shelter again. Hell no. So, let's just say you need to be an adult household with 13+ yrs old kids. Same goes for fragile old folks. I have no clue what I step on, so I don't want to accidently hurt anyone. That's pretty much how I ended up at the shelter.. I am up to date on my vaccinations and preventatives and ready to rock and roll. Are you? Want to know something quirky, I go in full 3 short circles to do #2. If it's 2 circles, it ain't happening. Must be three.. Now, need you to fill out a bunch of paperwork to get me out of here, please. I'm neutered, 3.5 yrs old (with a mind and energy of a puppy, but wicked smart so I feel like I'm 6 months young..), ~60lbs, blah blah blah, and very handsome red-tri. Oh.. I guess if you are not a hiker or a runner, I may accept you if you take me lure coursing or on fun long romantic walks on the beach.. smirk.
