Update 12/25/22: Pluto is back with her breeder in Oklahoma where she will be trained. She will still need a new loving family but please note she is currently in Oklahoma. Thank you. Original: Hi! Looking for a loving family for Pluto (7 months, birthday 4/20/22). My husband and I got her when she was ten weeks old from a breeder with a plan that she was going to be in our family for the next 15 years. Since then, we have learned a lot about her and that her personality & needs do not match with my husband's and mine. She's a small dog (13-14lbs) with a BIG personality. She's very playful and stubborn with a very high prey drive so she's reactive to dogs, small kids, and vacuums/brooms. Her reactivity involves biting so avoiding these would be great. Her ideal home would be an only adult household with a fenced yard. Ages 18+. No other pets. She's great in a quiet household and three 30 min walks everyday is enough for her with lots of play time (fetch, tug, she loves solving puzzles). She's very independent so she's good on her own, does not seek many attention. (working dog instincts). She does really well in a crate, usually falls asleep in them and never whines. On roadtrips, she's very quiet in her crate and naps. I've also traveled the plane with her and she was great in the crate as well. She knows that's her safe space. She recently went through a 3 week board and train and responds well to the e-collar. Knows basic commands (sit, down, come, leave it). My husband and I have tried very hard to train her so she can match more with our lifestyle but slowing realized that she will never be the dog we wished for. (ie non-reactive; sociable; taking her to play at doggy day care and dog parks; and playing with our families' dogs). We are only willing to re-home her if there is a right family for her and pray that there is someone better than us for her. Plus if you have experience with a lakeland terrier. Thank you.
