About Tia

Pit Bull mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Meet Tia, a real dream dog! Get ready to be an envied dog owner when you're out and about with this very sweet girl. She's a real looker with pretty eyes and posh coat color, but her pictures don't come close to showing her beauty. After a stint with animal control and long-term caring boarding facility, Tia is finally in a nurturing foster home getting attention, care, and exercise. At about three-years-old she is a joy and will make you smile all day, every day. Tia is a big, muscular girl at about 70 pounds, but that's all the more dog to love on. She's just happy, happy, happy with her own people and in her own home. Tia's booty shake is one of her many endearing traits. She expresses herself through the most amazing butt wiggles as though she's compensating for stumpy ears. Though she loves attention, she is happy to amuse herself with a chewy bone. Tia's love language is playing fetch which she has learned to do so well. She will drop the ball at your feet and if you are sitting down drop it in your lap!!! She is so gentle with this game that both older kids and adult kids will love this 'Tia Time' fun. She also loves wading in water but doesn't like rain. On walks she keeps stride with her person no matter how slow or fast the pace. She greets you with a toy, and of course her wiggles. She loves attention, especially pets and hugs while she leans into you! Tia needs an experienced person with patience to help her explore and build her confidence, but not baby her. Although Tia does well when home alone, she prefers that you be away no more than six hours a day. (We guarantee you won't want to leave her for long!) She likes kids, but because of her size kids must be ages 10+. She prefers to be your only dog, but when properly introduced she may likely learn to be around other dogs but will not live with them. Tia has a high prey drive around squirrels and other small critters so no cats or other small animals. She requires a good sized fenced-in yard to play those daily games of fetch. No apartment or urban living please. Tia's challenges: With strangers let her be the one to approach first and sniff. She will come up to a person when she is ready - treats help but she appreciates having space and taking her time. When comfortable with her surroundings, she's very chill, but new things make her nervous. For example, having never been on slick surfaces, she was scared of the slippery hardwood floors in her foster's home but now has learned to adapt.. She'll get used to things with strategies and patience but an understanding patient person is a must. After a rough early life, to include seeing all her puppies get adopted without her, she deserves nothing less than the best! Tia is spayed, UTD on shots, housetrained, a good traveler, and nondestructive. Apply here: https://bit.ly/ARK-Application #ARKforTia #JustSaveThem
