About Yoda

This is Yoda! He is a boxer mix that we got when he was only 4 months old. He is now about 2.5. We think he may be mixed with a hound dog, or maybe a black mouth cur. Really not 100% sure.we got him from a shelter and even though he was young he had been through some things. Even now after having him a while it shows. He very playful and has a lot of energy and would require a home with a fenced in yard so he can run freely. I would not be interested in rehoming him without a fenced yard. He will 'talk to you' when he needs wants something like to go out or if it's dinner time and he thinks you forgot. Yoda does have some food guarding that he had had since we got him. However he eats fairly quickly so it hasn't caused much issue. Toys he is fine, unless it's a edible bone like rawhide type or filled. Yoda has been a good dog, but he is a little to nippy for our new baby who will be mobile soon. He has always been around kids as we have an 8 year old too. He can be nippy with him too, he's never broken skin on him but has nipped him. I think he will do best in a home without younger children. He has also always been around our senior golden retriever and gotten along well. He seems pretty respectful of his limits when playing with him. He's not been around other dogs besides that, I think he would be fine but I can't be 100%. He has been around dogs at boarding and groomers and they never reported any issues with him there. He is very affectionate and cuddly. He love to be right next to you all the time. He follows me all over the house. He's also quite the good guard dog, nobody will come up to your house without Yoda letting you know. He is completely house broken and crate trained. He is up to date on some shots but needs some updated. He has his rabies, I can get you his vet records, he currently goes to disputanata animal hospital. He's extremely smart and very trainable. Right now he knows basic commands, sit, lay, paw, stay. I know this is a lot of information but I wanted to provide all I could. Please let me know if you're interested in him. He will make a great addition to the right family. I don't recommend small kids, and someone who can spend time with him and a fenced yard. He's used to having another dog in the home but I think he would also do well as an only dog. He's very silly and a loving loyal dog.
