About Taz

Taz German Shepherd/Heeler Mix Male 2 years old 48 lbs. Hey there, my name is Taz! I'm a gorgeous German Shepherd and Heeler Mix looking for a home to call my very own. I am such a love and want to snuggle with my humans and show them all the affection! I'll even snuggle my head into you like a cat and ask for attention-it's so sweet! I truly am such a gem and offer such beautiful companionship to my human. I do take a bit to warm up to new people, especially men. But when someone goes slow with me and offers me treats and gentleness, I respond so well and am continuing to learn that everyone is going to be a gentle friend to me going forward. I like to play with most dogs outside of the home and I'd do really well having playdates with other friendly dogs at a quiet dog park or in a friend's yard! I do struggle with sharing my home with another dog because I have some resource guarding issues around food and attention. So I need to be the only dog in the home. I generally do fine on leash but if a dog is vocal/reactive to me, I'll chat back to them with my own bark. But I've done really well with general leash training and continue to make amazing progress with my leash skills! I am SO smart (as you can imagine with my breed mix!) and I just thrive when I have daily exercise and some training during the day. Once I've had my physical and mental exercise, I'm ready to just lay by your feet and enjoy playing with my toys and laying in my favorite napping spots around the house. I am a really loyal and loving companion who is so eager to learn and grow. And I'd do really well with a human or two who understands my breeds and has experience with dogs in general so I can continue to just blossom! Will you be my person?
