(*Please note although Cassie is located in Bakersfield we are able to drive her to her new home and do a homecheck if you are in Kern County, Tulare County, Fresno County, parts of Ventura County or the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles County as well as going to Paso Robles. Otherwise potential adopters would need to come to Bakersfield. All potential adopters will need to be available for a zoom call prior to adoption.* Meet Cassie! If you are looking for a sweet girl with the best puppy smile, button eyes and a sparkly personality then Cassie is your girl. Cassie is a 1 year old mix of purebred Poodle and purebred Maltese. She weighs about 10 pounds, has an amazing coat that is hypoallergenic and non-shedding. The girl who had her was the daughter of what we like to term a 'backyard breeder' who were in the business of breeding their poodle and Maltese a couple of times a year. The daughter decided to keep Cassie as a puppy but now at a year old feels she needs a better life. In her private foster home she loves all other dogs. She was shy with her foster Mom unless she was laying down in bed where she would come and put her head on her shoulder and fall asleep. Now she is coming to seek love and affection from her foster Mom when she is sitting at her desk or folding laundry. She plays with all the other dogs and is great with the cats. She is also very fond of the outdoors and has a great appetite. She would do quite well in a home with another playful dog but it isn't a dealbreaker. Her adoption fee includes the following: 1. Spay 2. Current rabies vaccination 3. Current 5 way vaccination 4. Microchip 5. Starter food 6. Harness and leash Her adoption fee is $550. If you do not currently have a pet how you will keep Cassie socialized with other dogs Some notes to consider before applying for Atlas 1.. Cassie is a 1 year old puppy. Please make sure that everyone is on board with a young dog who requires continued structure to make sure she is the best canine citizen possible.. 2. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype/Zoom. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER. 3. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog and did not receive a response please do try again. We try to answer every email but it is not always possible. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place. 4. PLEASE do NOT send more than one email. It slows down the process. 5. We do not make appointments for people to just come 'see' the dogs available.
