About Nelly

Hello! My Name is Nelly. I was given to my mom, by her mom, after her dad passed away. I have a very strong bond with mom, but have not bonded with dad like we had hoped for. I'm very high energy and will only be responding to someone on a farm or with a fenced in yard with some room for me to run. Mom would like to keep me in Livingston County as I don't do well on Long Car rides. I am a very strong girl, so someone that can handle me would be best, as I can jump and get between your legs! I can sometimes get nippy when I don't get my way or you try to correct me. A home without kids is ideal. I get along with our cat. But he does not like when we play chase. I'm crate trained and will need to continue being crated while you are gone, as I sometimes get bored and chew on things I'm not supposed to. I can sometimes get excited/submissive when meeting new people and tend to tinkle. However, I do not have accidents in the house. But if someone has the time to socialize me, I tend to be quick learner. Please also know that I might get arthritis eventually. I was hit by a car on Father's Day of 2022, although I have healed and am back to my normal self, you may experience me limping or being achy in the future. This is one of the hardest things mom has had to do and I know she just wants the absolute best for me! This is why we will do an in home visit and make sure I will be the right fit for my new owner!
