About Oliver

We rescued Oliver from a neglectful environment. He has been treated for mange. He is currently on ear drops, antibiotics, itch relief and special shampoo. He gets along with all of our dogs. However, he tries to be dominant over the males. He also gets along with our cat and our 3 kids. He needs a lot of room to run around. He barks a lot and 'acts' like he is hurt and cries when you do not sit with him to eat breakfast and dinner and/or leave him outside too long. He needs to be fed separately from other dogs. He is leash trained and crate trained. He stays in his crate when we leave and at night. Loves to go for rides and walks. He is potty trained. He loves to snuggle and sleep in bed with you. He is HW negative. He needs hard chew toys or he will chew blankets and other soft things. I do not recommend plastic toys or plastic squeak balls. He will destroy them immediately and try to eat the pieces. He is a beagle and very stubborn. But is treat/food driven. Overall, he's a great dog but we have 3 extra large dogs and it is too much chaos for us/him. He would do great with a smaller dog (probably female) that he can snuggle with and possible share a crate ,with a soft bed). He does sleep with our Chihuahua. I don't think he would do well as an only dog. He will go outside but doesn't enjoy being left out alone for very long. We want him to become part of someone's loving family and someone who will snuggle with him at night while you watch tv. Would be better if he can be with someone who has children and possibly someone who is not gone all day or night. He needs a lot of attention.
