The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less than ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train. Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue. However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. Hi, my name is Argyle and I am a gorgeous Yorkie/Poodle boy who is 3 years old and I weigh 11 pounds. My feet are white, like I have a pair of socks on; thus my cute name. My gorgeous ears are as big as me and make me ever cuter. I was confiscated from an RV full of dogs in horrific conditions; thank goodness for a good Samaritan who called for a welfare check. All dogs were removed from the situation. I spent 30 days at the shelter getting the vet care I needed and now am a healthy boy, fully vet checked and ready for you to love me. I love toys and will play fetch for hours. I love to go for walks so if you want a companion on your daily walks, I am your guy. I love to hang out on the couch, be wherever you are and take naps with you in the afternoon. I get along with all small dogs; no large dogs please. I need a fenced in yard with room to explore. I am doing well with my potty training but given where I was kept, I will need some help in that area. I am sweet, social and love everyone I meet. I am not a big barker but will alert you if I hear something strange. My foster mom can't believe how perfect I am given my former circumstances.Grand kids that visit and are gentle and respectful is fine. If you want a submissive, sweet boy, I am your guy.
