About Diesel

Meet adoptable Diesel! Diesel is a purebred Australian Cattle Dog born on June 11, 2020. He was picked up by animal control after being found roaming all alone in the country in fall of 2022. As standard protocol, Diesel was scanned for a microchip and to our great joy, a microchip was found. However, his previous owner is not cooperating and does not want to assume ownership again. We have also found out that Diesel was originally sold to this owner by Petland in Columbus, Georgia. We are currently in communication with Petland to determine if he will go back to their care. However, we are not removing his availability for adoption until we know more. Diesel is a busy fella who enjoys playing outside in the play yards. He is very curious about everything and adventurous. We believe he would make an excellent companion for a bachelor who needs a fun companion to hang out with. Diesel does great with most other dogs but has had a scramble or two with a few of the other dogs at the shelter. We are not sure if this is his true personality or a symptom of being stressed in the shelter environment. He should be housed in a home without cats. Diesel likes to get rowdy, so we don't believe he would be the greatest family dog unless the kids in the home were older and could keep up with him. Diesel has been vaccinated, treated for internal/external parasites in the shelter and been tested for heartworms. Diesel is located at the Brownsville Haywood County Animal Shelter in Brownsville, Tennessee. His adoption fee is $120 which also covers his neuter. We have no pull fee for reputable 501c3 rescue groups and can help arrange transport. Please share Diesel to help him find his forever home!
