About Aenea

Adoption Fee: $10
Pit Bull / Lab
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Aenea is a 5 year lab-pit mix (our best guess). She is about 75lbs. We adopted her when she was 4 months old and have been her only owners. Aenea is the sweetest cuddle bug, couch potato. She is the happiest being with her humans. She loves snuggling, hugs, and keeping feet warm. Aenea is delightfully low energy. She gets one or two walks a day but that is more for her human's benefit. She is happy to do her business in the yard and return to snoozing. If she gets some energy, Aenea loves squeaky toys/balls/sticks, romping through the woods, and showing off her zoomies! Unfortunately Aenea has not adjusted well to our new infant daughter and we have had to make the devastating decision to rehome our best friend. She isn't great with other dogs, has a few dog friends she can walk with but does not share indoor areas and is problematic around other dogs when food is around. Aenea is too accustomed to being an only child and would have to find a home without other pets and without young children. Aenea is housebroken. She knows 'sit', 'down', 'place' (go to mat or bed), 'target' (touch nose to hand). She does well with recall. She is food motivated and eager to please so she is capable of learning whatever you want to teach her! Her manners are good, she has never had people food. She loves sitting on sofas. She has never slept on a human bed, I'm sure Aenea would join if you choose to invite her. We have several dog beds and her favorite blanket that we would be happy to send along with her! Aenea is spayed and microchipped. She is up to date on all vaccines and goes to the vet annually. She has environmental allergies that flair in the summer. For that she takes Apoquel and Benadryl daily. We suspect a food allergy to chicken and avoid anything with it on the ingredient list. We have tons of kibble and treats to get you started. With this new transition, under the guidance of our vet and a behavioral vet, we have started trazadone twice a day and Prozac daily. You can continue either of these as it works best for your family and Aenea going forward. Overall Aenea is in great health!
