Meet SKULLY! STATS: 5 year old terrier mix LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Loving home, attention, and a fenced yard. HIGHLIGHTS: Friendly, chill, and sweet! Skully is a 5 year old, 32.6 pound terrier mix. He was found as a stray and while a little larger than our norm, we couldn't resist helping this sweet boy out! He is such a good boy! Skully is very good natured and friendly, super chill, minds well and enjoys affection. He knows his name, how to sit, come, go outside, in, and has great house manners too! He sleeps on a large dog bed in the master bedroom. Skully likes to be close to his person, but is not needy and will go outside and explore or lay on the back deck. Because he was found as a stray we would like him to have a home with a fenced yard. Skully is pretty much house trained as long as he gets out on a regular basis. In his first foster home, he became very used to a doggie door. His second foster home doesn't use one, so we are working on signaling when he needs to go out. Skully gets along with the other dogs in the home and especially likes to hang out with his foster sister. Where you find one, the other is close by and they will walk shoulder to shoulder or follow each other through the yard or nap on the couch, but they don't wrestle and play. He would love to have a home with a furry companion, but would probably be fine as an only as long as he had someone who would spend a lot of time with him. Skully will probably not do well with cats. He is very curious to the point of almost stalking the cat in his foster home. He likes people and he would likely do well with older children. And toys, well, they are the BEST! Squeak-squeak, squeak- squeak, he could go on and on! He's so happy tossing his toys into the air, you can just see his joy! Skully is learning to walk on a leash and takes direction well. He likes riding in the car and is ready to go along whenever you are. He does well left alone, but is very happy to see you when you return. He rarely barks. He has a healthy appetite and likes treats. Skully's perfect home is going to have a family that is often at home and interacts with him regularly, an outdoor space where he can explore and lie in the sun, another relaxed dog of like size as a pal would be nice, and plenty of love and affection! Skully has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, fecal tested, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. He is heartworm positive and has started treatment. Any subsequent treatment and testing until he is negative are covered by the rescue. Skully is a very good boy looking for a good home! Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility.
