About Pete

This handsome dude is Pete, a distinguished 14 years and 100% dachshund -- curious, funny, opinionated, sassy, and loveable. He's also 14 pounds. Pete was sprung from the shelter in Roanoke VA where he found himself through no fault of his own.�%A0 Since coming into foster care, Pete has had his ups and downs.�%A0 Ups include rides in the car, a boat ride with his first foster family,�%A0 and making friends with all sizes and ages of other dogs.�%A0 His downs (Pete's opinion here) was the day-long stay at the vet where they cleaned his icky teeth and stole his manhood.�%A0�%A0 The days after the vet stay have received Pete's stamp of approval, though, as he has been enjoying all the love and attention.�%A0 Pete's perfect family would be one with older, polite kids, couch privileges, and maybe a canine sibling.�%A0 He would also be amenable to flying solo, being the apple of his human's eye. Pete is house- and crate-trained.�%A0 He walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. Pete's hearing isn't S good as it once was.
