About Gonzo

Gonzo is 4 year old red-tri Aussie. He has been professionally trained - knows and responds to commands: sit, down, place, 'bang bang' (plays dead), rolls over, and kennels up on command. Completely house broken. Leash trained. He will let you brush, groom and bathe him. The challenge - he can become aggressive to animals outside the home he is unfamiliar with (we have two other dogs he got along with just fine) and when he is around young children - he lunges/nips. We aren't sure if it is aggressive behavior or if he thinks he needs to 'herd' then. A month ago we had a 8 year old running in our backyard and he ran alongside him and nipped him in the back. After speaking to our vet, he said we had the option of putting him down or re-homing him based on our local rules. Gonzo is too sweet to his loved ones and too well-trained to just end his life. He would be an excellent pet for someone.
