About Frankie the Lab Mix

Frankie is a handsome and fun loving Lab mix male who is about 10 months old and weighs about 60 pounds. Frankie loves people, and wants to be right by your side. He is very active, and would love a family that will give him a job to do, make him their jogging buddy or hiking partner. He loves to eat ice cubes when his foster mom fills her water cup up. He gets along great with other playful dogs, and would love a family that would take him to the dog park or doggie day care. He loves to chew on bones and play with toys. He walks well on a leash, and is crate and potty trained. He sleeps through the night in his crate, but would also love to sleep in bed if you let him! He is still a puppy at 10 months old, but generally does well left out of his crate/is not destructive. Frankie has had basic obedience training and knows several commands and some hand signals. Due to some food trauma as a puppy and in his previous home, he has food aggression. This has been evaluated by the veterinarian and multiple trainers, and his foster family has been able to overcome his issues quickly. Frankie will need to be fed separately from other dogs in his new home (either in a separate room in a crate) and if multiple people are around, separately from the crowd of people. He does not have treat aggression around people or other dogs, and happily takes treats while right next to his furry foster siblings. He is neutered, up to date on shots, tested heartworm negative and microchipped. He is being fostered in Muskego, WI. His adoption fee is $350. Frankie's adoption fee will enable us to finance our program of readying additional dogs, puppies and kittens which we prepare, transport and adopt out in the northern United States. Our goal is to get as many homeless animals out of south Texas, where we have a severe pet overpopulation crisis. Holds are handled on a first-come, first-served basis with respect to the first person to place an exclusive hold deposit as instructed by the rescue. Once you have made the deposit, it is refundable so long as you show up to meet the dog on the agreed date. Prior notification of an intended no-show/non-delivery does not constitute showing up.
