About Apricot

Adorable Miss Apricot is a rat terrier mix, who is 5-6 years old and weighs about 13 lbs. Apricot loves to snuggle in your lap, and when she's not snuggling, she's probably playing with her toys. She gets along with the other dogs in her foster home and is great with cats. She especially enjoys playing with the tiny kittens, who also live there. As affectionate as Apricot is with the people she knows well, she's nervous around strangers and especially wary of anyone who tries to touch her before she completely trusts them. For this reason, she's probably not a good match for a home with very young children, who might find it hard to keep hands off such a pretty little girl. Her new family will need to be patient and give her the time she needs to become comfortable around them, and this is going to take several days at a minimum. She can go for walks and be around people (in fact, she enjoys long walks and walks nicely on a leash) as long as people don't try to grab or touch her before she knows and trusts them. Allow Apricot to adjust at her own pace, and you'll be rewarded with a lovable little lass, who knows 'sit' and 'stay' and is fully house-trained. She is also crate trained, but she's so trustworthy even when left alone that her foster parents give her free rein of the house.
