We are posting this Border Collie mix, and he does look like a high mix as a courtesy post.. If you are interested in this boy, please contact the good folk that currently have him.. Carrie. 904-891-7935. He is in the Jacksonville area. Here is his story.... we have a border collie mix that we took in from someone who found him in Jacksonville, FL as a stray. He was hurt with worms and no owner found. He's been dewormed, neutered, and taken care of now. He plays Frisbee everyday and LOVES to eat! We are looking to find a home for him as we already have three dogs. He really needs to be with someone who understands herding dog behavior. Their three dogs do not appreciate the border collie behaviours. Yes he nips and circles. He's learned to play frisbee so as long as we make sure to burn his energy with that he doesn't do it. He's neutered, had worms when we got him but is worm free now, he does fine with our cat, does well with a crate. He has a bit of hip dysplasia which we manage with half a tablet of carprofen. We have three black lab mixes that love each other and other dogs but barely tolerate him. He was abandoned in Jacksonville then changed hands a few times through people who couldn't keep him but wanted to help him. We've done our best to take care of him but if there is someone out there with less dogs and possibly experience with border collie behavior, that would be ideal for him. His name is Tripp, he is less than a year old. And seems like a typical Border Collie who needs a job.. I would suggest a home with a fenced yard, and someone who has Border experience.. This boy may even be an awesome agility pup, or even work livestock.. So if there is anyone out there that can help and take him in please contact Miss Carrie. If there is someone out there that would commit to fostering him thru Ewenity to adoption we can go that route too. We have left it open both ways. Either way this boy needs a place where he can be a Border. He looks like a good boy!!! We will take this boy into our rescue if we get a foster for him..
