About Jack

Australian Shepherd / German Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet jack: he is a 1 yr old Australian shepherd/German shepherd mix puppy who's birthday was Nov 5th. Jack is originally from Fl where I live part of the year. Two days before hurricane Ian he was dumped off on a friends street. She begged someone to foster him because she couldn't. Turns out he belonged to her daughter's friend and the step dad dumped and ran. 2 days before a major hurricane. No shelters would take him so I did. his previous owner was 17 and spent zero time w him in obedience training so the step dad beat him instead. - he had no vet visits or any basic needs beyond food and love from his young owner. Jack adores females but will submissive sprinkle around men Jack is female dog friendly, may be male dog friendly w a gentle male. He needs someone who will commit to obedience training w a gentle hand. He needs someone who can take the bounce into you at full speed until you can train him to be calm But that said he is wicked smart. He learns at lightning speed. In two weeks I had him crate trained after no crate exposure. He will sit immediately for food now and shake(still learning that) jack has a sixth sense for anything illness. He literally figured out my injuries from the accident I was in and put his head on each and every one. He would sit with me for two hours calmly while I did my IV drip. He loves to pull a rope, chase anything thrown. - with the right training I believe he can make a service dog. In the 5 weeks I've fostered him I paid for a complete upto date shots for both southern and northern climates. I had him neutered, microchipped, DNA/genetic health screened. He is expected to stay 67lbs, live up to 14 yrs and has no breed related genetic conditions. Unfortunately I can't keep him. My service dog is a pitt mix that fights w him every chance they get. Very ugly to experience for all of us dogs included. I'm asking no fee. I am asking you to read what I've said and make a long term commitment to obedience training and energy training. - we are near Scranton Pa but willing to meet the right family. No young kids unless you agree that you don't mind them getting knocked over and jumped on. No aggressive/dominant male dogs, Men must understand they will scare him easily. Jack has the biggest heart. To see him is to love him. Someone out here is his perfect match- please give him a chance
