Max is a shelter foster. Appears to be a Belgian Malinois, about 3 years old. Super sweet, but some emotional issues - very afraid of strangers. Took him about a week to trust us. Since then, he has been great with busy teenage kids and a small dog. He was quickly and easily house-trained. He loves hugs and loves to be close to you. He knows basic commands - sit, stay, come. He has not shown aggressive behaviors, even at feeding time, but can be reactive to dogs in close contact while on leash. He has been very well behaved with small dog in the house. He stays off furniture. He has a good amount of energy and is an AMAZING running partner. He has completed heartworm treatment and is back to a healthy weight of 48 pounds. We have seriously considered keeping him permanently, but we live in a condo in a high traffic area and the living environment is stressful on him because of his fear of strangers. We would love to keep him, but we know he will be MUCH happier in a quiet neighborhood with less interaction with strangers. He is so much happier and confident already. We think he will be a great family dog. He will need a patient family while he learns to trust you, but he is totally worth the effort. Will need verification of new home environment.
