Pepper's story, much like many of the downtrodden, is heartbreaking. She came into Animal Control as a bonded pair with another male that was euthanized upon intake. Left alone and terrified, in a new and frightening place, she cowered in the back of her cell when anyone approached. Eventually, she was deemed unadoptable and facing euthanasia herself, when she was pulled by a rescue with only hours to spare. Since leaving the shelter, Pepper has been staying at a board and train, where she is learning basic obedience and socialization with other dogs. She is a quick study, highly food motivated and eager to please. Pepper is a beautiful chocolate colored pit mix, about 2 years old, weighing around 50lbs. She comes spayed, vetted and fully vaccinated; and exhibits no medical problems or allergies. Home checks are required. Please do not contact if you are not willing to allow a home visit.
