About Zazu

Adam reached out for help about rehoming his dog Zazu 'I adopted Zazu from the SPCA when he was around 5 months old. He is now a little over 3 years of age. He was labeled as a pit mix, I had done one of the doggie DNA swab tests and it came back that he was 70% Staffordshire terrier and 30% English Mastiff. At the time I had another dog, whom he got a long with very well. My ex wife took the other dog and Zazu has lived with me alone for sometime now. Zazu was neutered and micro chipped at the SPCA, prior to me adopting him.. He is current on all of his shots/vaccines and weighs 87lbs. The reason I have to re home him, is that I have a baby on the way with my new girlfriend and I am fearful he may injury the newborn with his size and stranger danger at times. Zazu is very very sweet once he trusts you. He completed a puppy training class at Petsmart not long after I got him. He was fine with other dogs at that time. Then covid hit and he did not get much socialization and became a homebody. He then completed multiple sessions with a Sit means Sit instructor, which their method was through the use of an e-collar (behaves well when wearing his collar). Zazu is food motivated so treats are always helpful in situations that you feel he is uncomfortable. During his last vet visit about a month ago now, other than his initial anxiety he did very well. He loves to chew bones and can forget his own size and strength at times when playing, but also turns into a cuddle bug lap dog when sleepy.' Contact Adam at [email protected]
