About Lucas

**PHOENIX METRO AREA ONLY** Introducing one of the new kids on the block! Lucas is a 2-3 year-old, 17 pound, male Westie mix guy. Lucas came to Pathways from the Maricopa County Shelter when his owners did not come to claim him. It is hard to believe no one came for him because he is a sweet, calm little dude... While we have no idea what his life was like before he was rescued, his current stoic nature tells us he just rolls with what's going on and takes life as it comes. He does have a happy nature once he feels safe and has even been known to play with a toy or two! At his foster home, he acts like the older cousin or uncle with the pups he hangs out with watching to make sure everyone is alright. While he will do fine with other dogs, he doesn't seem to seek them out and will be fine as a single companion. Lucas will require a home with a secure, fenced yard as he is a bit of a flight risk, so will need a secure yard for his potty duties. He is not overly affectionate, but you know you've done something right when you get that tail wag and a puppy kiss! You will know you are special to him then! Due to his terrier nature, it is not recommended he have cats or other small furry pets at home. Any children in the home must be at least 12-14 years old, gentle in nature and have experience with dogs. Lucas is up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped.
