Meet Toby, an irresistibly handsome 5-year old, male rottweiler in Hopkinton, MA who is looking for his forever home. He is currently residing in a shelter and feeling stressed in his environment. Toby requires a pet parent with breed experience. If you're looking for a soulmate in dog form, he would enjoy nothing more than to relax and soak up all your love. Toby is super smart and loves learning new tricks. He understands commands including 'sit, paw, touch' and many more. Toby is smart and food motivated and has yet to be stumped by a food bowl puzzle! He loves to play with all types of toys. He also enjoys Kongs, bones, and hoofs. This sweet guy is well-mannered, neutered, UTS on shots, and housetrained. Toby does enjoy his walks and loves exploring his environment though he is not an overly energetic dog. He is happy just chilling the day away and loves all the chin scratches and affection he can get. Toby is a social guy who enjoys meeting new people though occasionally is nervous, so requests you allow him time to perform his sniff test of approval with new friends. Toby shows interest in socializing with some dogs, while at times he can be intense with others. He will need proper introductions before meeting friends. He has also displayed some resource guarding with food including bones, so for these reasons he will need to be an only pet in an adult-only home. Toby did pass his initial cat test, but it hasn't been repeated of late. If you have a cat savvy dog, inquire with the staff. He has some seasonal allergies and is on zyrtec and apoquel to prevent itchy eyes. The perfect home for Toby will be an adult only, one pet residence with someone experienced with Rottweilers/ large breed dogs. With some time and patience he will give all of the love back ten fold.
