About LeRoy

Border Collie mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

LeRoy LeRoy has been gone for about 8 months. I don't know the reason, but he never really hit it off with the dog that was already in the home. Here, I never had any issues with jealousy. He was a pack dog and didn't demand anymore attention than my others. Reasonable guy. But people are different. Jealousy equates to a dog feeling they own you. They own nothing except maybe a cow hoof, but I still can take it away if I want. Never allow a dog to own you. When LeRoy stopped letting the other dog be part of affection time, he had to find a new home. ORIGINAL POST: About 3 yrs old his kennel card says. Leroy was a stray walking around Terra Bella, not good. He got to Tulare County Shelter and they knew what to do. Leroy is now a CCHD Rescue dog~~~ Nothing but up from here! I have information from Leroy's finder and savior. Sue says: We had him at our house overnight. I found him in our grove and whistled to get his attention, he came running. Very friendly from the get go. Great recall! Thrived on being told he's a 'good boy' and pets. Excellent walking on a leash, we went to neighbors, seeing if he was lost. He's friendly with my husband and daughter. Attentive and submissive, laying down, showing his belly. Very eager to listen and please. Our other dogs eager to figure out who he was, lots of friendly dog sniffing though a wire fence. My chihuahua did sneak out into the front yard with him and Leroy was not phased by him. Leroy is also smart. Jumped on a flower box and jump into our backyard to play with our 2 year old male Shepard! They had a ball, lots of running, high energy chase. No observed aggression. We took a chance on his friendly demeanor and gave him a bath because he had rolled in something dead before he showed up! He love, but tolerated. Enjoy the scrubbing very much and was full of zoomies afterwards! We have had strays try to go our chickens and goats, but Leroy didn't care about them at all. He was very curious about our cats though, but not in a malicious manner. Overall, he seems like a very good natured dog. I think he will be a great pet for the right family. Amazing to think on Jan 2 he was a dumped dog in Terra Bella smelling like the dead animal he rolled in, and now in Paso Robles, to start a life filled with love.
