Meet CHARLIE! STATS: 3 year old Yorkie mix LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Attention, activity, and a fenced yard! HIGHLIGHTS: Playful, affectionate, and fun! Charlie is a 3 year old, 15 pounds Yorkie mix. He was surrendered to us along with a couple of other dogs because their owner did not have enough time for them. Charlie is super sweet and affectionate. All he wants is to love his human and to be loved! He likes to take naps on the couch or by your feet. He is full of energy, always following his humans around the house waiting for a kind word or a ball to be thrown! Charlie loves to play fetch! He loves to chase lizards, squirrels or anything that moves in the back yard. He is always running and he is fast! He is super friendly and playful, and loves to play with toys and balls. Charlie gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and loves to play with them. His foster mom feels he will also be fine as an only dog with an active family, but he must have attention. He has not been around cats for kids since we have had him, although we think he would be fine with older kids who would play with him. Charlie requires a very secure fenced yard and should not be outside unsupervised. He is a digger and has dug his way out of his yard a few times. If someone is outside playing with him and keeping him occupied he likely will be fine. Charlie is smart and knows sit, come and stay! He comes right away when you call his name too. He walks on a leash, is halfway potty trained, and progressing nicely. He loves to eat and loves baby carrots as treats! He rides well in the car, he is a good boy and always wears his doggie seatbelt. Charlie sleeps in the bedroom with his foster family, but on his own bed. He has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, fecal tested, heartworm negative, and has been microchipped with a lifetime registration. He is all ready to find his new forever home where he will get to run and play all day! Applicants should live within a 1-2 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *To meet a dog or be considered for adoption you must first submit an adoption application for review.
