Introducing pretty SKYE! STATS: 14 month old Beagle mix LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Fenced yard, active home, preferably with a fur buddy HIGHLIGHTS: Super sweet, happy and playful! Skye is a 14 month old, 42 pound friendly Beagle mix who was recently surrendered to us. Skye was found as a stray at a Waffle House a little over a month ago. A nice family took her in to try to find her people but they were unable to locate them. Unfortunately they recently had a family emergency and needed to surrender their dogs, including Skye. As you know we occasionally do take in bigger dogs if it is an emergency situation, and this one definitely was that. We were happy to welcome this girl to rescue! Skye is a very affectionate girl with a happy personality! She loves to be close to her person and is very cuddly. Her tail wags all the time, and she is very fond of giving big licks to the face! Skye is high energy and gets along with dogs of all sizes. Her happy place is going to be in a home with a playful furry friend or an active family. Skye has been around kids and is good with them, although she is a big puppy and doesn't know her own strength, so little kids would probably not be advised. She has not been around cats and we are not sure how she would be with them. Skye is high energy and loves to play. She really loves toys, especially stuffed animals that she tends to destroy! She enjoys being outside, but she does not know how to use a doggie door yet. When her new furry friends run through the doggy door she stands there and waits till somebody lets her out. She does require a fenced yard. She is not fully housebroken but is well on her way. If somebody will keep working with her with treats and positive reinforcement we don't think it would be too hard to get her fully potty trained. At night Skye sleeps curled up in the big bed at night and she can be a bit of a bed hog! She has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *To meet a dog or be considered for adoption you must first submit an adoption application for review.
