Meet Alex- 4 yr old male Scottish Terrier, Wheaton color, weight app 20#. Alex came into rescue with Angus (black Scottish Terrier, also posted for adoption) after being abandoned in the garage with a large pot belly pig. The owner had died & left his house along with the 2 scotties to his adult grandson. Animal control retrieved the scotties & placed them with the local shelter, then released into RuFF Rescue. Alex had bite marks on his back from the pig & was very fearful & depressed upon arrival. He tolerated his bath & refused food. His 2nd day, he ate & started chattering. He became more relaxed & started exploring his environment. He was nonstop chatter- he was decompressing & had lots of 'stuff' to tell. And he chattered & chattered. Alex has recovered from his bite marks, had his dental & groom. He strutted out of the groomers as he knew he looked handsome. It's been apparent he was well taken care of & loved in his earlier life before his owner died. The groomer reported he knew what grooming was about- he was well mannered during his spa day. In foster it is also apparent he had been well taken care of and loved. Within the first week, he responded to treats, basic commands and affection. He loves walks, playing & snuggles. He enjoys other nice dogs. He does well with potty skills. Alex is neutered, recent dental, heartworm negative & on prevention, current on vaccinations & microchipped. Suggested adoption donation is $600. If you are interested in adopting Alex please fill out an application at www.ruff-rescue.com today.
