About Willow

Treeing Walker Coonhound / Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Hello! We're looking for a new home for Willow. Willow is a 3 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound / Australian Cattle Dog mix. We rescued her 2 years ago when she was 1 year old. She's healthy, spayed, and up-to-date on all vaccines. Potty-trained, does well in her crate, and has been trained with positive reinforcement since we've had her. We're located in Denver, CO. Willow is an empathetic and clever dog with a lot of love to give. She loves being around her pack, and would do best in a house where she can be around her people most of the day. She's a very active dog and is the best version of herself when she can get at least 3 miles of walks per day. 6 months ago I moved in with my partner, and Willow has struggled wit the transition to our new neighborhood and living situation. There are reactive dogs on all sides of our house, and Willow needs an environment that's less stimulating. She's been increasingly anxious here, and she vocalizes with barks and howls when she's anxious. This has been difficult on my autistic partner who's especially sensitive to noise. I started a new job soon after moving, and the longer hours mean I haven't had much time to spend with Willow. As time has gone on and we've tried training and dog walkers and anxiety medicine, we've decided we don't have the energy or capacity to give Willow her best life. If you're interested in bringing Willow into your life, know that you're getting a very empathetic dog who will always care about how you feel and be there to offer you comfort. She's clever and will always brighten your day with a laugh as she finds her own puzzles to solve. She'll keep up with you in any activity you bring her on, and it's important to us that Willow ends up in a home where she's getting nearly daily walks. She's an explorer first and foremost, and loves to be outside with her people. No rehoming fee required, we'll provide food, treats, dog beds, puzzle feeders, a crate, harness, and leash. It's important to us that Willow ends up in a home that's a good fit for her, and we'll do whatever we can to make sure that happens.
