Meet REESE! STATS: 5 year old Yorkie mix LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Fenced yard, no kids HIGHLIGHTS: Very much a lap dog! Reese is 5 year old, 12 pound Yorkie mix. He was found as a stray and the owner was located, but didn't want him so he came to us! Reese is a bundle of energy. He prances around the yard and struts his stuff. He loves to play outside, and is good with the other dogs but is not too crazy about the cat. Reese loves lap time, and is an affectionate dog. He would be perfectly happy to curl up in a lap forever. He does resource guard his person and when someone leaves the room, he may sound vicious when they come back, but quickly settles down. It's almost like he has to realize all over again that the person was his friend before they walked out! It can be startling behavior, but is manageable. Reese enjoys play time and is generally a happy go lucky dog. He is potty trained but needs the reminder to go potty as he can forget when he is playing and will try to run to do his business before he has an accident. Although he will walk on a leash, he needs a fenced yard to burn off his energy. He is just waiting for someone that wants a lap dog that loves to play! At night he sleeps in a dog bed in his foster family's room. Fun fact: his tongue sticks out a lot, we don't know why, but it's cute! Reese has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *To meet a dog or be considered for adoption you must first submit an adoption application for review.
